After writing my first nine posts on travel, I'm finally writing the reasons why I started my blog. If you know me, I can do things backward sometimes (like starting a travel blog in 2020- the year everything shut down), so just bear with me!
Let me introduce myself- I'm Britny! I work as a full-time nurse at a hospital and PRN nurse at a long term care facility. I pick up a lot of overtime that mostly goes into my "will work for travel, clothing, home decor, wine fund". I've been married to my husband, Justin for almost 10 years. He's my best friend, personal photographer, and IT support. I have 2 doodle dogs- Maxwell and Oliver that I'm obsessed with. Max is the oldest and the biggest baby you'll ever meet, who is a major momma's boy. Oliver is the chill, laid back super cool dog who justs wants to hang out.
So why did I start a travel blog in 2020? Like many people, I was feeling trapped and even depressed when COVID first hit hard in Cincinnati. Travel is what makes me feel most alive and connected to the world, and that was taken away. Not only that, but I also started to have major anxiety being a health care worker. Even binge-watching trashy reality TV wasn't making me happy anymore. I needed to do something to snap out of that darkness.
In July, I decided to take my chances on the Rona and go to the beach. Planning my trip, and getting to do unique things, made me feel whole again. I realized how much I loved and needed to travel. Justin has told me to start a blog in the past, but I always thought no one would even look at it.
I think I'm in a time in my life where I don't care what people think, and I'm just going to do what makes me happy. So, I finally started this blog! Honestly, I've gotten so much more support than I ever thought I would, so thank you all for taking the time to look at this!
I'm not the most creative person when it comes to writing, nor do I really have any artistic bone in my body. What I discovered when starting my blog, is that looking up new places to go, making itineraries, and finding unique things to do is my creative outlet. I LOVE it so much.
Not only am I now finding a way to express my own creativity, but I'm also way more motivated to go out and explore. I'm pretty sure I know way more about Cincinnati now than I have my whole life living here.
I really hope to help and inspire people to travel. A lot of my adventures are budget-friendly and even close to home. I want everyone to feel like they can go on that vacation or day trip and make the best memories with the ones they love.
So that's my story on why I'm doing this! Let me know what you'd like to see more of in my blog! What has been your favorite post so far? What has been your creative outlet?
Thanks for reading and happy travels! <3

Hi. I am very glad that you are doing what you like and having fun. I want to give you some advice, in my opinion it would be much cooler if you were running instagram or YouTube in parallel with the blog, so you could pump your blog for free, as well as gain a foothold in the media space. It's not as difficult as it seems at first glance, and imovie for PC will become your faithful assistant in creating videos. I think that being a beginner, you will quickly figure out how to edit videos.
